Hedgehog and Wigglyworm Workshop with the MHCS

Fri, 06 Apr 2018 , 10.00am - 1.00pm

Spend a morning in the Milntown Gardens with the Manx Hedgehog Conservation Society, discovering about the dangers hedgehogs face when awakening from hibernation and how we can support the conservation of hedgehogs here in the Isle of Man. There will also be a chance to meet two rescue hedgehogs.

Children will help place handmade wooden hedgehog houses, with an observational lid, in the woodland so we can monitor any residence in the future.

Natural log piles will be erected from waste wood and will take part in a discussion about how important it is to support the natural diet for the hedgehog and feed back into the ecosystem.

The children will be getting up close to our wonderful wiggly earthworms and understanding their vital importance to planet earth.
Before a packed lunch in the enchanted woods, the children will make their own paper crowns with artwork and messages to raise awareness of the dangers hedgehog face and the impact of litter on wildlife.

As this event will be taking place outside – outdoor/warm clothing and sensible footwear is advised.

Tickets cost £12pp for Children aged 4yrs - 12yrs. Available from: Ticket Tailor
