Ancient document found confirms that ghosts inhabit Milntown

A scrap of parchment recently found in a roof void at Milntown, on the outskirts of Ramsey would appear to provide a reason for so many spirits walking at night through the Grounds of Milntown.

The document, which might be part of the will of Ewan Christian 1651 -1719, warns his son against venturing into the Milntown woods at the end of October

The document will be sent to experts for analysis.

As far as we can decipher it appears to read as follows;

In the name of God amen

I Ewan Christian, lately of the Town of Ramsay, now residing at Ewanrigg, gentleman, being sick and weak in body, but of sound and perfect mind memory and understanding (praised be God for the same) and considering and calling to mind the uncertainty of this mortal life do therefore make publish & declare this my last will & testament in manner and form following

Secondly

I must unburden myself of the real reason for moving you my son and the rest of our family away from our ancestral home of Milntown. I have been much troubled by the spirits of the Skyhill battle that walk our grounds. The poor souls of pious Manxmen slaughtered by Godred’s Vikings crying out for mercy, I hear them in my dreams still and warn you now if you value your sanity never to venture into our woods in the days before All Hallows Eve.
