Exploring the Cosmos, from Plato to Pluto

Looking at how over the centuries we have explored our Solar System.
 
The lecture looks at ancient models of the cosmos, through to the Copernican revolution, and the use of telescopes, and discoveries by spacecraft since 1957.
 
The lecture will also include a number of surprising Manx links. It concludes with details of some recent spacecraft missions. 
 
If the skies are clear, you will also have the oppourtunity to have a guided tour of the Manx Night by Howard Parkin
