A rare and exciting opportunity has arose for a qualified, self-motivated and efficient 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫 to join our friendly and hardworking team. This is a full time, permanent and varied role which will involve assisting with the maintenance and development of the gardens and grounds.
The Senior Gardener will report to the Garden and Facilities Manager and help guide the gardens team, working collaboratively with colleagues as part of a professional team.
The 15 acres of gardens comprise areas of formal lawns and gardens, kitchen garden, walled garden, nursery, woodland, topiary, hedges and new hard landscaping projects. Widespread experience and expertise in all these areas is advantageous as well as an open mind to learning new skills. The successful applicant must be self-motivated with the ability to manage and motivate staff to achieve the highest standards.
5 years + experience as a senior gardener or similar. An eye for detail is essential, as is the ability to take responsibility, act decisively and being able to turn your hand to most tasks. A relevant horticultural qualification is required or equivalent experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, professional gardener. The role is extremely varied, the estate provides functions and events, a willingness to help in these areas is a must.
The working week is 37.5 hours, the candidate will receive 20 days annual holiday plus 10 days Bank Holiday.
