As the seasons on our small Island begin to change, so do things here at Milntown! From 1st November 2026, we’ll be moving to our winter opening hours, but there will still be plenty happening throughout the colder months and lots of reasons to visit.
Our Café Winter Opening Hours
1st November 2026 – 1st February 2027 | Wednesday – Sunday | 12pm – 3pm | Hot food served 12pm – 3pm
During the quieter winter months where the days are shorter and the weather is a bit more…Manx, we’ve decided to focus our opening hours around the times our customers visit us most, while bringing you more seasonal food, special events and different ways to enjoy Milntown.
Saturday Breakfast Buffet
Every Saturday from 9am – 11:30am
Start the weekend with breakfast at Milntown, with all your Full English favourites alongside croissants, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, fruit juices and more.
Sunday Carvery
Our Sunday carvery will be available every Sunday throughout the winter, and adding the new seasonal hot freshy made desserts that change each week,and include custard or cream. Think Apple Crumble, Sticky Toffee Pudding or Hot Chocolate Fudge Cake.
Milntown Teas
Our brand-new take on Afternoon Teas, with no pre-order required. Simply choose from a selection of savoury and sweet treats to build your own Afternoon Tea. Perfect for those days when you fancy a little treat, without having to plan ahead.
Hop Tu Naa – Half Term
Saturday 24th – Sunday 1st November
We’ll be extending our opening hours for the duration of the Autumn half term, opening between 9am – 4pm giving families more time to visit and enjoy Milntown. We will be offering breakfast to order including pancakes during the week of half term, with the exception of Saturday Mornings when our weekly breakfast buffet will be on instead.
Half Term Treasure Hunt – Hunt the Moot! Between 24th October and 1st November Milntown will once again be playing host to some tricky spirits, and we invite children of all ages to join in finding the hidden moots around our gardens. A special prize awaits those that find the golden moot – one will be hidden each day we are open!
Trick or Treat!
Between 4pm and 6pm on All Hallows Eve children and grown-ups alike can test their bravery by visiting the most haunted house on the Island! Those that dare knock on the door will be rewarded with something sweet from our ghostly residents!
Supper with the Spirits
31st October | 7pm – 10:30pm
Join us at Milntown for a special themed dinner with a night of local lore and legends presented by Isle of Man Ghost Tours. If the demand is high enough, we will be opening a second night on the 30th October as well. Tickets will be available to book shortly.
Christmas Market
14th & 15th November | 11am – 4pm
Our popular Christmas Market is returning this Novermber, and you won’t want to miss it! Our market marquee will come alive with local traders selling everything from Christmas crafts and gifts to tasty treats and produce. This time our cafe will be open and hosting our Casual Christmas Carvery offering, meaning we can fit even more local makers and crafters into the main marquee!
Christmas Menu at Milntown
From the 25th November, our Christmas menu begins including the brand-new offering to have festive afternoon tea served in the sitting room of the main house. Enjoy afternoon tea in the grandeur of the historic house at its most magical when beautifully decorated for Christmas.
Santa Teas
16th, 17th & 18th December | 4:30pm – 6pm
Our famous Santa teas are back for 2026! This family tradition allows you to spend some time with the young at heart in the family, and for the kids to meet Santa in our gorgeous library setting. If they’ve made it on to Santa’s nice list, he might even have a special present for them!
House & Gardens – Winter Closures
Our gardens and historic house will close from 2nd November until 1st February. While the gates are closed, our garden team will be busy behind the scenes carrying out essential winter work, including significant tree work and the removal of deadwood throughout our woodland.
We’ll also be working on a couple of exciting new additions to the garden spaces, ready for visitors to enjoy when the gardens reopen in February.
Throughout the winter, we’ll be making the most of the season with even more experiences, special events, seasonal favourites and plenty of reasons to visit!
Most importantly, every coffee, lunch, carvery, breakfast, afternoon tea, visit and event that you enjoy at Milntown helps support the upkeep and futureproof this historic estate for years to come.
