About Us

The Milntown Estate is owned by the Milntown Trust, a charity established under the terms of the Will of its previous owner Sir Clive Edwards. The Trust is dedicated to running the Estate for the benefit and wellbeing of the Manx people and for visitors to the Isle of Man.

The Trustees, together with the Estate staff, aspire to provide all visitors to Milntown with a first rate visitor experience irrespective of whether your visit is to enjoy the gardens, tour the historic house, view our unique vehicle collection, attend one of our many events, stay in our beautiful apartments or to just sip a coffee or dine in our Café.

Milntown Estate

The Estate

As you can imagine, the maintenance of this beautiful historic house and its gardens is expensive. The Trustees are, therefore, extremely grateful to the numerous donations of suitable artefacts and of funding which are provided by individuals, organisations and companies. It is these donations which have made such a difference and made it possible for the charity to recently embark on extensive improvements to the Estate.

We are currently planning a series of further improvements to Milntown and they all require additional funding. Projects include the restoration of the hallway, dining and drawing rooms of Milntown House, the development of the Mill building to showcase the Island’s only working water mill and numerous projects planned in the gardens, including a children’s activity area.

You can find further information regarding these projects on the website and if you would like to support the charity’s work in any way, be it through volunteering, a gift or a legacy, please contact our management team who will be pleased to provide you with more information.

We hope you visit Milntown regularly and continue to enjoy the Isle of Man’s finest Country House Estate.
